Rules of handgun safety – Responsible ownership – Common handgun types – bullet types and parts – Dominate eye exercise – proper grip/stance/sight picture/trigger press – Types of malfunctions – range etiquette – different type of holsters and manner of carry – Virginia State Law –  Deadly for doctrine – Simulator time to include marksmanship training and exposure to shoot/don’t shoot drills – class uses SIRT pistols – debriefing and questions – awarding of certificates

 

Tactical Handgun 1
$75 for one person (1.5hrs) or $150 for two persons (1.5 – 2hrs)

All classes begin with rules for firearms safety. Dominate eye exercise – Sight alignment – Grip/Stance/Trigger press – Prepping the trigger – The 21’ rule and Tueler drill – Muscle memory – Situational awareness – Tactical mindset and movement – How to zero the pistol – Steel plate drills – Failure drill on paper targets – Shooting a moving target – Technique for shooting on the move – Deadly force doctrine – Liability drill – Shoot/don’t shoot scenarios – Taking the aggressor out of the attack loop – Debriefing and questions

Tactical Handgun 2

Review of lesson 1 – Steel plate drills – Failure drill on paper targets –Operating from the work station – Emergency reloads – Tactical reloads – Malfunction drills – Use of cover and concealment – Shooting from barricade – Muzzle punches – Shoot/don’t shoot scenarios – Class uses SIRT pistols/Glock 17 with recoil kit/Glock 17 with “snap caps” – Debriefing and questions

 

Tactical Handgun 3

Anti-Carjacking Tactics Class
$50 per person (45 minutes)

This is a real-world simulation of methods and tactics to protect you in the event of an attempted car-jacking. We employ life-like scenerios and an actual car door prop for training as close to the real thing but in a safe controlled environment.

 

NRA Basic Pistol
$150 each person (8 hours)

The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a two-part course consisting of classroom and hands-on practical portion conducted under the guidance and supervision of an NRA-Certified Instructor. The course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation.
Some of the topics in the course include: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a pistol, the fundamentals of shooting, and pistol inspection and maintenance.
During the hands-on part of the course, the NRA Certified Instructor will validate comprehension and application of gun safety rules; range protocol; proper handling; loading and unloading procedures; application of pistol shooting fundamentals; stable shooting positions; live fire; and a final shooting qualification.
